Do you offer both Interior Design and Interior Decoration services?

Yes, Storia offers both design and decoration services.  Typically, design projects will include decoration services also.

What types of services does Storia offer?

Every project is different. Storia offers the following services: Interior Design for new builds and renovations; Spatial Planning; Joinery Design; Reconfiguring Interiors; Lighting Design; Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry Design; Selection of Materials, Finishes and Fixtures; Soft Furnishings including curtains & blinds, upholstery and custom furniture; Furniture, objects and styling.

How do you work with builders and architects?

I pride myself on the relationships I nurture with builders, trades and architects. I believe the best project outcomes are achieved when all parties are engaged early and the project becomes a collaboration. I spend a lot of time on site, with builders and trades to understand the site conditions, troubleshoot where necessary and ensure that your project is delivered as intended.

I’ve never worked with an Interior Designer before.  Is it expensive?

Typically Storia clients are either time poor with demands in other parts of their lives; seeking an elevated aesthetic; or are overwhelmed by the decisions and co-ordination of an interiors project.  Each project is bespoke and personal.  It is a premium service and pricing reflects the nature of each individual project.

I have a budget.  How can we manage that?

Typically a budget is best managed through reduction in the scope of the project or phasing the project over time.

Why would I choose to work with an Interior Designer?

Have you ever visited a tile showroom thinking you know what you want, diving deep down the rabbit hole of options, discovering several different directions and walking away completely confused? 

Have you made selections for a renovation and in hindsight wished you had made different choices?

These things all happen.  Working with an Interior Designer not only delivers outstanding aesthetics and function, it can also be a huge time saver, can create a bespoke space that truly delivers beyond your expectations, can help deliver a particular mood or feeling in a space, can remove guesswork and avoid costly mistakes that come with uninformed decisions.

I want the project completed for a special event.  Is this possible?

So many factors need to be considered when looking at the project timeline and delivery.  The type of project, material selections, lead times on items especially custom items, time of year, trade and builder availability, planning and regulatory requirements, and the list goes on.  I am reluctant to make guarantees given the number of variables involved but am happy to discuss the feasibility of delivering to a deadline.

What is Storia’s style?

I have my own personal style, and I do believe that my projects have my signature.  However, I work in a way such that I create a brief based on the space and the experiences and stories of the clients.  This means every project starts with a blank canvas, and all selections are made in response to the brief. 

My personal style is a combination of modernist, contemporary, with a splash of the Mediterranean.
